SUMMER READING KICKOFF

We kick off our "Every Hero Has a Story" on Monday evening, July 13 at 6:30 with Tall Tales for entertainment. Come at 6 for free hotdogs and drinks. The event will be held outdoors if the weather permits. Bring your lawn chairs.

If you don't have a library card, come in prior to this event to beat the rush that evening. We have hundreds of new books for all ages. The Teen Group will be led again this year by Roxane Thormann and a drawing at the end for either a Nook or Kindle will take place. Tell your friends because Ms. Thormann always has lots of fun activities as well as reading to keep you occupied. This class will meet on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

Story time will be held on Wednesday mornings  with Rachel Thormann as well as four Thursday mornings with crafts and projects sponsored by Cooperative Extension in Mexico. Dan Middleton will be in with his new book, "Naomi Redflower."

Prizes will again be earned by reading ... come see all we have for you. Each time a child reads 10 books, he or she will receive  a coupon for an ice cream cone at Daddy-O's, courtesy of Mr. Roy Olin. Nice N' Easy has given us some $5 gift cards to distribute so there will at be a lot of excitement at your library this summer!

Hope you saw the Queen Central article and ad in this weeks edition. On Thursday afternoon, August 6 at 2:30, Regi Carpenter, a professional story teller will be here to entertain you and believe me, you will love her! More on this later.

As they say on "The Price is Right" ... COME ON DOWN!!
